The Euro-Atlantic Council of Romania had the most distinguished honor organize the 64th Atlantic Treaty Association General Assembly (ATA GA), held in Bucharest on September 26-29.
The General Assembly represented the first major international gathering after the 2018 NATO Brussels Summit, paving the way to the 70th anniversary of the Atlantic Alliance.
The event marked the 10th anniversary of the 2008 Bucharest NATO Summit, bringing together Delegations, youth leaders and media representatives from all the 38 ATA National Atlantic Councils to discuss how to enhance the ATA’s role in support of NATO’s strategic communication goals as well as to fulfil the ATA’s statutory duties.
On Thursday 27th September, the 64th ATA General Assembly was hosted at the Palace of the Parliament in Bucharest by the Euro-Atlantic Council of Romania. Security in the Black Sea Region has been the major focus of the Public session titled “The Future of The Transatlantic Security After the NATO Summit: A Black Sea Region Perspective”. On September 28th, ATA Delegates participated at the International Event organized in partnership with the Bucharest Security Conference.

Elections of the new ATA Secretary General
On Thursday 27th September 2018, ATA delegates gathered together at the Palace of the Parliament in Bucharest for the 64th General Assembly, unanimously elected Mr. Zsolt Rabai as the new Secretary General and discussed about the future activities and programs.
Elections of the new YATA President and Executive Board
On Wednesday 26th September 2018, the 22nd YATA General Assembly took place in Bucharest in parallel with the 64th ATA GA.
